Galesville Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to providing the highest quality for promoting growth and development.

Committee's

Promotion and Tourism

Effectively promote member businesses within the community. Create and manage responsible tourism programs to draw and accommodate visitors. Provide and support workforce/business development opportunities. Provide and support programs that drive increased spending in businesses.

Historic Preservation

Beautification and Design

To create an attractive and coordinated "look" for the business district and outlying areas including the integration of architecture, landscaping and signage by capitalizing on Galesville's unique assets and heritage and assist in providing for their use.

Economic Revitalization and Development

To provide a marketing strategy that will result in an improved mix of retail, commercial, industrial and residential development which will strengthen the tax base and build investor confidence in the growth of Galesville's economy.

Organization and Membership

To provide the needed resources through an active recruitment program for volunteers and the necessary funding to support the programs and to communicate to all supporters of the progress that is being made.

Agri-business

To preserve the agricultural economy and lands in our community through the promotion and education about all the various forms of agriculture in our community.

Galesville History

A.A. Arnold House, Established 1874

Band Stand in Downtown Galesville, Built in 1912

Gale University was started in 1854. In 1890 the name was changed to Gale College, but closed in 1940. In 1941 it became Marynook (Catholic), which closed in 1994. The city of Galesville bought it in 1995. In 2000 the Garden of Eden Preservation Society obtained the building. Now the Old Main Cultural Center.
